Casual option set beneath Michelin starred Hide Above by Ollie Dabbous
It was pleasant to try the more casual option within the same establishment of Hide, which is backed by Hedonism Wines, the renowned Ollie Dabbous and a healthy financial backing from the owners who found Hide back in 2018. This breakfast produced a decent French toast with caramelised topping and pleasant truffled scrambled eggs however, I thought the brioche was the wrong choice for having the scrambled eggs on as it provided no texture which is pretty much the purpose of the toast and as eggs are inherently rich, I don’t think you need rich bread as well. It struck me as a choice to look pretty rather than to work. However, the service was excellent with disposable menus and take away little sanitiser bottles for everyone which was a lovely touch and took the sting out of the £53 price tag for a couple of breakfast items with tea.
