Flagship restaurant of the Peninsula hotel, Bangkok set by the river
This was a delightful garden setting restaurant at The Peninsula hotel. To gain access from the south side, a complimentary shuttle boat will take you across which continues throughout the day. The service was impeccable and authentic Thai cuisine was good to have. Not without a price tag as the bill with drinks for myself came to approx £75, but when the satay and gai bai toey (chicken in pandan leaves) are this good (which they were), the comparison to how expensive it is to the rest of Bangkok is easily forgotten. Som tum (green papaya salad) was also very good to have authentically with a decent level of spice. All that washed down with Singha beer by the riverside and watching the evening boats of Bangkok with terrific and caring service makes this a very nice spot to do if you can.
